| I have the pleasure to run 3 yoga retreats at this really beautiful Manor House. The house has been renovated to a high standard with many home comforts, the management team are very friendly and helpful. Great location too set right on the Oxfordshire canal with lovely walks right on your door step. Highly recommended. | "Stayed at the Manor House for my partners surprise birthday gathering and it did not disappoint one bit!" The perfect place to host a large amount of people as plenty of space and activities for everyone to enjoy : two large lounges with cosy log burners (pre-setup so extremely easy to light!), well equipped games room with numerous board games, table football, table pool and chess. Large lawn outside makes it ideal to make the most of garden games too when the weather is nice. Location was great, on the edge of the canal which was lovely for walks and also short driving distance to Oxford and for exploring the Cotswold. Kitchen and dining room was well equipped and made it very easy to cater for 18 guests with plenty of fridge space and cooking utensils etc. The house was beautifully decorated throughout and I will definitely be booking again for another special occasion. | "Brilliant" A group of us (14) stayed here for 10 days with a work event. I cannot recommend it enough. The setting is beautiful right along the banks of a canal. It is a quiet location with two pubs within walking distance. The house itself is large and accommodated all of us with ease. The spec is very good and above what I was expecting. This is the sort of place I would look for if I was booking a family holiday in this area. |
Exploring Thrupp
The Manor House offers a beautiful canal side location with two local public houses. The Boat Inn and The Jolly Boatman A4260, and Annie's Tea Room is a quaint spot for afternoon tea with a selection of homemade cakes and pastries. There are many walks to be enjoyed nearby, take a leisurely stroll through our managed woodland, or along the banks of the River Cherwell, which is abundant with wildlife and birds, or take the weight of your feet and hire a canoe from the boathouse instead.
A short walk or along the towpath or a short drive leads to the village of Kidlington, recognised as the largest village in England, has several supermarkets, post office, banks, chemists and various pubs and cafes. There is a regular bus service to Oxford from Kidlington along with a nearby Park and Ride service. There is a bus stop available on the main road, approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the cottage.
