Christmas at Worton Hall:
It’s the most magical time of the year and we absolutely love this season. From Christmas parties to Christmas-themed weddings, we love bringing visions of Christmas to life no matter the event.
One of our favourite traditions is putting up our 12ft Christmas tree. It’s always a fun (and slightly challenging!) moment for the Worton Hall team, but it sets the stage beautifully for guests to add their own festive touches.
And this year, we’ve taken things a step further by launching our brand-new Christmas Party Package! This includes a DJ, dancefloor, catering, and optional extras like welcome drinks, magicians, games, and even casino tables. The perfect way to celebrate in style!
So let's take a look at our 2025 Christmas Event guide at Worton Hall...
Theme and Colour Schemes:
One of the best places to start when planning any event is deciding on a theme or colour scheme. While it may be Christmas time, you can choose any theme you like! Over the years, we’ve had the classic white-and-blue winter palettes to vibrant Havana-style celebrations. This year we even have a Country-themed Christmas party!
Here are a few other themes we love:
Black Tie: Dress to impress, glitz and glamour, champagne towers and elegant décor.
Classic Christmas: Fairy Lights, evergreen trees, red berries and gold touches.
Festive Fancy Dress: Santa, elves, reindeer, and the Grinch are a few great costume ideas.
Winter Wonderland: Whites, silver, cool blue mixed with snow; reindeers and polar animals are a great mix for this theme.
Retro: Nostalgia is definitely in! Throw it back to the 70s, 80s, or 90s with colourful fairy lights, classic Christmas tunes, tinsel, and vintage baubles.
Alice in Wonderland: For a more magical and theatrical theme, Alice in Wonderland lets you channel pure creative energy with enchanted forest elements, magical lighting, and oversized props.
No Theme: If you prefer something more relaxed and fuss-free, keeping it simple always works.
Decoration
Every season we’re greeted with stunning décor at our weddings and parties, but something about Christmas décor is so special.
Baubles, tinsel, fairy lights, and trees are staples of the festive period, but there’s so much more to consider. We’ve seen huge lit-up reindeer, garlands, twig trees, neon signs, mini Christmas trees, gingerbread houses, golden cherries, wreaths, and candles, to name a few! We recommend mixing larger statement pieces with smaller, thoughtful details, which creates a festive atmosphere without overwhelming the room. Ultimately, Christmas décor is all about balance: a couple of eye-catching features, warm lighting, and those small festive touches that make guests instantly feel the warmth of the season.
Food and Drinks:
The menu can help bring any event to life and it is usually the strong talking point of such event!
This year we’ve partnered with Greens Catering to deliver a fantastic yet slightly different Christmas menu! Endless canapes, bowl food plus mini desserts take centre stage compared to the more formal sit down that is usually offered at Christmas! Some highlights within the menu include Smoked salmon blinis, lemon cream, and caviar, Beef Bourguignon with baby onions, smoked bacon, and creamed mash, and Apple frangipane tart as a dessert. Other great options include traditional turkey, mince pies, and pork and leek sausages.
At Worton Hall, we also have our own bar and provide a range of seasonal drinks. A great example is delicious mulled apple juice and wine as a welcome drink. Spiced cider is another great option, as well as seasonal cocktails. As part of our Christmas party package, we can provide a glass of bubbles on arrival... the ideal toast drink for such celebration.
Entertainment and Suppliers:
When planning a Christmas event, entertainment and interactive activities can elevate your celebration from festive to unforgettable. Our Christmas party package includes a DJ and dance floor to get everyone moving, while optional extras let you tailor your event to match the mood and theme. Carnival games, casino tables, photobooths, and magicians are all great options to keep the vibes high. As well as giving something for those guests who prefer to be off the dance floor than on it!
For Christmas weddings or larger festive events, working with trusted suppliers can make a big difference. Florists can craft seasonal bouquets with greenery, berries, Poinsettias and other winter blooms; photographers and videographers can capture the warmth of low-light winter settings; caterers and cake designers can create menus and desserts that feel both festive and luxurious; and entertainers help keep the atmosphere lively and memorable.
Planning Tips:
From colour schemes and festive décor to themed entertainment, seasonal menus, and stylish attire, planning a Christmas party or winter wedding is all about creating a magical, memorable experience for your guests. With thoughtful planning, attention to detail, and a touch of festive sparkle, you can bring your vision to life in a way that’s uniquely yours. Whether you’re hosting a cosy winter wedding, a glamorous corporate party, or a playful themed celebration, the key is to embrace the season, celebrate in style, and make memories that will last a lifetime. At Worton Hall, we love helping our guests turn these Christmas dreams into reality! We can’t wait to see your festive celebrations come to life.
